Game-Based Learning
This session is ideal for teachers who want to bring educational and entertaining games into the lessons. Game-based learning is appealing to teachers as it provides students a safe place to learn from their failures. Gaming gives feedback immediately and it is ongoing. Moreover, teachers don't need to create a new lesson plan, they just simply attach this to the existing one.

Bringing Out Your School's Inner Google
Fostering an educationally dynamic school environment is a goal for all school heads. In this workshop I share my experiences as a Googley school administrator and outline how I use the G-Suite for education to help achieve this goal. I will discuss strategies school leadership can use to improve school wide communication, improve administrative efficiency, foster an atmosphere of professional learning, and build productive collaboration school wide. From students to parents; from faculty to support staff; everyone benefits when a school reveals its inner Google! This session is ideal for individuals in a leadership role who wish to learn how they themselves can help integrate the G-Suite for Education into the culture of their school.

Google Expeditions - explore the world in virtual reality!
Google Expeditions is Google's virtual reality platform for the classroom. With a basic smartphone and a 'Google Cardboard' students (and teachers) can be spirited away from the classroom to a world underwater, or see CERN's hadron collider, or visit historic buildings in England, or be transported to a royal project in Thailand....the choices are endless.

In this session, I will introduce you to Expeditions and how to get setup. Together we will experience how transformative VR can be and we will also look at how we can use Expeditions to enhance the learning experience.

Please note, it is a requirement that attendees have a fairly recent smartphone (all iPhones and most modern Android phones)  to participate in this session. There are a limited number of Cardboards available so this will be on a first come basis - although people can pair up.
